Jedi Fallen Order Mustafar
For this project I wanted to create a level that could be used in the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order by Respawn. I have been a massive fan of this game since its release and always thought it would be really enjoyable to design a level for this game.
What I wanted to achieve with this project was firstly to showcase some of the level design techniques I have acquired whilst working in the industry but also to try and recreate as many Jedi Fallen Order mechanics as possible.
I looked at what made the levels in Jedi Fallen Order great and started to come up with my own ideas on how to use similar techniques. Jedi Fallen Order is great at linking up different areas of the level and this is something I tried to incorporate, however if I was to continue this project that would be something I would try work on more.
This project was incredibly fun to work on. I loved creating all of the mechanics for this level, even though the are in a prototype stage it showed me how powerful UE4 blueprints can be and it gave me so much to work with when building the level. Additionally creating a space for a specific game was something I was constantly thinking about, I always asked myself if this would fit in the Jedi Fallen Order universe.
Mechanics created
Here are some of the mechanics I created using UE4 Blueprints. These are only a few, more can be seen in the playthrough above, including doors, chests, respawn points etc.
